Welcome to The Holiday Sale Guide, a living, breathing document that will be updated as new sales, steals, and deals drop. It didn’t feel appropriate to call it the Black Friday Guide or even the Cyber Weekend Guide, because sales have already started and things are already selling out.
I don’t say that to instill some sense of (false, utterly false) urgency and scare you into whipping out your credit card. Rather, I want to briefly touch on subject in hopes that you do the opposite. Or, at the very least, approach the ongoing and upcoming sales with intention, because as I’ve curated this guide (and forthcoming gift guides), I’ve been struck by our culture’s messaging around consumption. It is, to say the very least, overwhelming.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a gift guide. I love delighting loved ones with a great gift. And I love my things. I suppose, more than the average person, I value being surrounded by beautiful, well-crafted, meaningful + meaning-filled objects. Maybe that’s exactly it, I want to be surrounded by things that I love season after season, year after year; not things I purchased because I was swept up in the emotion of some off-hand purchase. Which, by the way, I’ve done plenty of times.
So while I will share quite a few sales (and highlights from those sales) below, I encourage you to browse and buy discerningly. Make a list, check it twice, as they say. And let me know if there’s anything in particular you’re looking for. I’d love to help you find it!
